There was heavy voting in the second phase of municipal elections in Rajasthan. According to the official data till 6 pm released from the State Election Commission, a total of 70.01 percent voting has been recorded in 147 bodies. In the second phase, lakhs of voters of the state exercised their franchise and cast their votes to elect the city government.

According to the Commission, a total of 87 lakh 63 thousand 595 voters were registered in the second phase, out of which 61 lakh 35 thousand 153 voters cast their vote. The total voting percentage was 70.01 percent, which is considered quite good.

The highest turnout in this phase took place in Dhorimanna, where 91.59 percent people cast their votes. At the same time, the lowest voting was recorded in Kota Municipal Corporation, where only 57.02 percent voting took place. The trend of low voting in urban areas was also seen in Kota this time.

If we look at the district-wise voting percentage, 85.22 percent voting took place in Alwar, 85.17 percent in Barmer, 88.32 percent in Khairthal-Tijara, 86.80 percent in Phalodi and 86.04 percent in Kotputli-Behror, which is much higher than the state average.

Similarly, 69.77 percent in Ajmer, 75.18 percent in Balotra, 71.36 percent in Banswara, 83.07 percent in Baran, 77.69 percent in Beawar, 83.65 percent in Bharatpur, 83.88 percent in Bhilwara, 75.09 percent in Bikaner, 81.48 percent in Bundi, 81.48 percent in Chittorgarh. Voting was 79.80 percent, 74.74 percent in Churu, 82.88 percent in Dausa, 81.90 percent in Didwana-Kuchaman, 83.04 percent in Deeg, 82.06 percent in Dholpur, 71.98 percent in Dungarpur, 75.10 percent in Sriganganagar and 80.01 percent in Hanumangarh.

62.88 percent in Jaipur district, 84.88 percent in Jaisalmer, 76.64 percent in Jalore, 83.19 percent in Jhalawar, 77.94 percent in Jhunjhunu, 71.10 percent in Jodhpur, 77.76 percent in Karauli, 83.26 percent in Nagaur, 70.70 percent in Pali, 81.80 percent in Pratapgarh. Voting was recorded at 79.27 percent in Rajsamand, 74.56 percent in Sawai Madhopur, 78.69 percent in Salumber, 67.81 percent in Sikar, 66.90 percent in Sirohi, 79.67 percent in Tonk and 70.07 percent in Udaipur.

Overall, Alwar district topped with 85.22 percent, while Kota stood at the bottom with 57.02 percent. The average voting in the state was 70.01 percent. The Commission said that minor changes are possible in the final figures.
