Shaun the Sheep’s upcoming movie marks Aardman Animations‘ best-reviewed project ever. The animated movie’s Rotten Tomatoes score from an early screening is out. It has earned a rare feat ahead of the theatrical release.

At the time of writing this article, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom has received a perfect 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes from 14 reviews. These reviews poured in from early screenings of the animated feature held over the weekend.

However, this is not the first time Aardman Animations has received a perfect score on the review platform. The 2024 movie Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl also received a 100% on the Tomatometer. Similarly, it also earned a 90% score on Popcornmeter.

Additionally, the two predecessors of The Beast of Mossy Bottom also sit with near-perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2015 movie Shaun the Sheep Movie has a 99% Tomatometer score on the platform. 2019’s A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon currently has a 96% critic score.

Shaun the Sheep Movie’s critical success is only part of the story

The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the third installment in the Shaun the Sheep movie franchise. The movie is directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker.

As per the official synopsis, “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween — until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns MAD SCIENTIST to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With the Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.”

The voice and sound ensemble includes Justin Fletcher returning as Shaun, alongside John Sparkes, Kate Harbour, Dani Dyer, Roman Kemp, Nina Sosanya, and Paul Whitehouse.
