There is good news for students aspiring to study at IITs. Students securing high ranks in exams like JEE Advanced, GATE, and JAM are being offered scholarships and fellowships across various IITs in the country. Under these schemes, eligible students receive financial assistance for their studies and research. At some institutes, this aid amounts to lakhs of rupees annually; for instance, select researchers at IIT Kharagpur can receive a fellowship of up to ₹90,000 per month. Meanwhile, IIT Kanpur offers an annual scholarship of ₹3 lakh for four years to top rankers of JEE Advanced.

**Fellowship of up to ₹90,000 at IIT Kharagpur**
IIT Kharagpur has expanded the scope of fellowships for GATE and JAM rankers under the Director Platinum Jubilee Excellence Fellowship (DPEF) scheme. Researchers who secure a top-50 rank in GATE and enroll in the Direct PhD program at IIT Kharagpur will receive ₹80,000 per month for the first two years. Subsequently, they will receive a fellowship of ₹90,000 per month for the next three years.

The institute has also included top-50 JAM rankers in this scheme. Such students can avail themselves of this financial assistance upon admission to MSc and master's degree programs.

**₹3 lakh annually for IIT Kanpur toppers**
IIT Kanpur’s 'Bright Minds Scholarship' is also highly beneficial for students. Students who secure an All-India rank within the top 100 in JEE Advanced and enroll in BTech or BS courses are awarded an annual scholarship of ₹3 lakh. This financial aid continues throughout the four-year BTech program, helping to cover expenses related to tuition fees, hostel accommodation, and living costs.

**Assistance at IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee as well**
At IIT Roorkee, students who perform well in JEE Advanced receive financial assistance of up to ₹25,000 per month. Meanwhile, at certain institutions—including IIT Delhi—facilities such as a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend are provided based on a student's All India Rank and family's annual income.

Ensuring Financial Constraints Do Not Hinder Education
The objective of these scholarships and fellowships is to provide financial assistance to talented students so that a lack of funds does not become an obstacle to their higher education or research pursuits. Through these schemes, IITs encourage high-performing students to advance in the fields of research and technology.
