Kylian Mbappe ended last season without winning a trophy.

Even so, the French Real Madrid forward still claimed three top-scorer awards: the World Cup, the Champions League and the Spanish League.

He also became the all-time leading scorer in World Cups.

In an interview with L'Equipe, he said he does not believe any player performed better than him last season.

"There wasn’t any player who had a better season than mine. I believe I have a chance (to win)."

He scored 58 goals in 60 matches for Real Madrid and France.

He won the La Liga Golden Boot with 25 goals. He took the UEFA Champions League top-scorer award with 15 goals. And he claimed the World Cup top-scorer honour with 10.

He also scored five goals in the World Cup qualifiers, including one in France’s 2-1 win over Brazil, and added two more in the Copa del Rey.

Bayern’s goal machine collected yet another European Golden Shoe after scoring 36 goals in the latest Bundesliga season.

His 25/26 campaign produced 73 goals in 65 matches for Bayern and England.

That is an average of 1.12 goals per game.

Along with finishing as the top scorer in the German league, Kane also led the scoring in the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup, with 10 goals. He was behind only Mbappe in the UEFA Champions League after scoring 14 times, and he netted once in the German Super Cup final.

He scored six times at the World Cup for the England team, added five more in the qualifiers, and struck once in pre-World Cup friendlies.

And unlike Mbappe in Spain, Kane won all three available domestic competitions in Germany.

Who deserves it more? Mbappe or Kane?

The winner will only be announced on 26 October.
