New Delhi, September 12 (IANS). On Saturday, the first day of the BRICS summit, experts from across the country and the world said that India is rapidly emerging as a global AI center in AI and digital innovation and the possibilities for technological partnership between other countries are quite wide. He also said that India's digital payment model has today become an example for the whole world.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Egyptian Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert Ahmed Gamal said that the BRICS forum is providing an important opportunity to promote technological cooperation and innovation among emerging economies.

He told IANS that from his point of view the conference is a strong beginning towards enhancing cooperation especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence between India and Egypt.

Ahmed Gamal further said that India is rapidly emerging as a global AI hub and the possibilities for technological partnership between the two countries are vast. He said that such dialogue among BRICS countries will create a strong foundation for joint projects and knowledge-sharing in the future.

Ahmed Gamal said that Artificial Intelligence will bring major changes in employment and work culture in the coming years. He said that the world is now moving beyond generative AI and entering the era of agentic AI and this technology can significantly increase productivity in many sectors.

He said, “AI will change the nature and functioning of many jobs. Today the world is moving from generative AI to agentic AI. If governments and industry sectors make effective use of these technologies, it will see a huge improvement in their productivity.”

Ahmed Gamal further told IANS, “The BRICS summit is an effective platform to bring together emerging economies. The summit provides an opportunity for leaders of member countries to dialogue, giving new directions to innovation, technological development and economic cooperation.”

He said that today the whole world is changing with the influence of Artificial Intelligence and it is necessary for the BRICS countries to learn from each other's experiences and strengthen technological cooperation. According to him, the benefits of innovation can be extended to the entire BRICS community.

Meanwhile, BRICS Business Council head Andrey Mikhailishin told IANS that BRICS Pay aims to interconnect the national payment systems of member countries.

He said, “BRICS Pay acts as a bridge between the payment systems of different countries, allowing travelers and companies to transact using the payment systems of their respective countries. It is a framework that brings the payment systems of different countries on one platform.”

He said that this initiative can further facilitate trade and financial connectivity between member countries.

Along with this, Dr. Pawan Josh, Head of BRICS Pay India, while talking to IANS, said that the relations between India and Russia are historical and based on trust and said that the scope of cooperation between the two countries is continuously increasing.

He said, “When it comes to the defense sector, our relationship with Russia is very special and historic. India and Russia trust each other like two brothers. Russia can make an important contribution in achieving our goal of 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.”

Dr. Josh further said that India has understood foreign technologies and developed them according to local needs and the biggest example of this is UPI. He said that India's digital payment model has today become an example for the whole world.

Dr. Pawan Josh praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that his vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and the core objective of BRICS are largely the same.

He said, “The Prime Minister's vision is that the whole world is one family and this is also the philosophy of BRICS. This forum representing the Global South works on the principle of cooperation, partnership and shared development. The objectives of the agreements and discussions taken forward during the conference were also to ensure that the member countries move forward together.”
