Kylian Mbappe has spoken about his early experience of working under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid after the manager's summer arrival at the Spanish club. After only a few weeks of working together, the former Parisian has been especially taken by the tactical sharpness of his new boss. Mbappe believes the clear direction provided by the head coach has played a major role in his strong displays on the pitch.

Mbappe was quick to underline how much Mourinho's intelligence has impressed him since the two started working together in Madrid. The forward said the manager's clarity of thought has given the squad the leadership it needs.

"What type of manager? Very intelligent! I was struck by the intelligence of the guy," Mbappe said. "Then again, I'm not surprised. You don't become Jose Mourinho if you're not."

Mbappe's numbers at the start of the season show how productive the partnership has already been. Along with scoring four goals in four Liga games, the 27-year-old also found the net as Los Blancos claimed a 2-1 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League.
