Free Aadhaar Card Update: The deadline to update Aadhaar Card for free is about to end. In December 2023, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) extended the deadline for free updates of Aadhaar. The last date for a free update of the Aadhar card is 14 March. At present, one can update their Aadhaar card for free only on the myAadhaar portal. However, if you update it offline then Rs 50 is charged.
UIDAI said. Based on the positive response of the residents, it has been decided to extend the facility for 3 more months i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024. According to him, the facility of document updates will continue without any charge through the myAadhaar portal.
What information can be updated?
Anyone can update their name, address, photo and other changes for free from the UIDAI website till March 14. If you visit the Common Services Center (CSC), a charge of Rs 50 will be levied to update your Aadhaar card details.
How to update Aadhar card details online?
- Follow these easy steps to update the details on your Aadhar card without any charges-
- Log in to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using Aadhaar number.
- Click on the 'Proceed to update address' option.
- Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number.
- Select 'Document Update' and the current details of the resident will be displayed.
- Verify the details and click on the next hyperlink.
- Select Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents from the dropdown list. Upload address proof.
- Click on the 'Submit' option and upload the documents.
- The update request will be accepted after the 14-digit Updated Request Number (URN) is generated.

- Visit the official link of UIDAI
- Log in and select "Name/Gender/Date of Birth and Address Update"
- Click on “Update Aadhaar Online”
- Select 'Address' and click to proceed
- Upload the scanned copy and enter the required information
