Let us tell you that the blue colored Aadhar card is made for children of 5 years of age or less. That means, the validity of this Aadhar card is for children up to 5 years of age. After this this Aadhar card has to be updated. After which this base comes into normal category.

This Aadhar card of children can be made both online and offline. For this, biometric information of the child is not even required. To get it made, only the Aadhar card of the parents is required and only one photograph of the child is taken.

How to apply online? (Online Application for Blue Aadhaar Card)

  • Parents UIDAI official website go to
  • Click on Aadhar Card Registration.
  • Enter child's name, parent's phone number and other relevant information and choose a slot to visit the UIDAI enrollment centre.
  • Go to the enrollment center with the child.
  • Here the child's photograph will be taken for the card. Aadhaar card, address proof and birth certificate of the child along with parents' information will also be checked to verify the information provided.
  • After verification, a message will be sent to the parents' registered mobile number regarding completion of the process.
  • An acknowledgment slip will be issued to the parents and a blue Aadhaar card will be issued in the name of the child within 60 days of verification.

This is how the update will happen after 5 years

Aadhaar card will be updated when the child turns 5 years old. To update the information, one has to visit the nearest enrollment center. Here their biometric data like fingerprints, iris scans and facial photographs are collected. After verification here, a new Aadhar card of the child will be issued. If the card is not updated, it will become invalid.
