Aadhaar Card Update: Aadhaar Card is an important document. Aadhaar card is required to buy a train ticket or apply for a government scheme. In such a situation, UIDAI has said that if a person has not updated his Aadhar card for 10 years, then he should do it as soon as possible.
To update Aadhaar card, a charge of Rs 50 has to be paid both in Aadhaar center and online. However, currently UIDAI is giving the opportunity to the users to get Aadhaar card for free. Till March 14, 2024, users can easily update Aadhaar card online for free.
How to update Aadhar card
- To update Aadhaar card, you have to visit the official website of UIDAI.
- After this you will have to enter your Aadhaar number and OTP.
- Now you have to click on Document Update and select Verify.
- After this you will have to scan and upload a copy of ID-proof and address proof in the drop list.
- Now after submitting you will get the request number.
- You can check Aadhaar update status by request number.
- Your Aadhar card will be updated in a few days.

What can be updated online
If your Aadhar card is more than 10 years old and you have not updated it yet, then you should update it as soon as possible. You can update name, address, mobile number and e-mail ID card in Aadhar card online. However, for biometric update you will have to go to the Aadhaar center only.
Charge will have to be paid at Aadhaar center
You can update Aadhaar card online for free only till 14 March 2024. If you update the Aadhaar card offline i.e. by going to the Aadhaar center, then you will have to pay the charge.
You will have to pay a charge of Rs 50 for every update at the Aadhaar center. This means that if you have to update your name and mobile number, you will have to pay a charge of Rs 100.
Let us tell you that even after March 14, you will have to pay a charge for online updating.
