Murder FIR on cops as accused dies after arrest, STF inspector suspended

A police team comprising two women constables that arrested a 45-year-old drug case accused, who died in hospital after he complained of chest pain, was booked on charges of murder, officials said. Special Task Force (STF) inspector Raghvendra Singh, who was leading the team, was suspended, officials said. Ajay Pratap Singh, a resident of Lakhara Sagipur village in Pratapgarh district, had a case registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case filed at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow.
