A few months back, the Meta-owned instant messaging app introduced the feature to pin an important message in a chat or group. This solved the problem of referring back to the most important message while scrolling in the chat. Just tap on the pinned message at the top of the chat, and here it is! However, there can be cases when you need to pin multiple WhatsApp messages, links, photos or videos. To solve this issue, WhatsApp has expanded the feature to three messages.
While announcing the feature in the WhatsApp channel, the Meta-owned app says, "Now you can pin up to three messages to the top of your chats. Pin photos, videos, voice notes or even polls—putting what everyone needs to know front and center.” Know this WhatsApp trick to pin important messages. Here’s how it works.
How To Pin A WhatsApp Message?Whether you are using an Android device, iPhone or desktop, the process remains the same.
- First of all, tap and hold the message that you want to keep pinned.
- Tap on More options with the three-dot and click on Pin
- Now, select the pin duration from 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. And that's all! You have pinned a message.
- Repeat the process to pin the other two messages in the chat.
The process is the same for the group chat unless only Admins have access. Once you pin a message in a group chat, it will share a message with everyone in the chat indicating that a message was pinned and who pinned it. Also, you may not be able to check out the message in case you have joined the group after a pinned message is sent.
