A police team reached Kolkata and nabbed the accused from Poorva Express, and then brought him to Delhi on March 27. A case under sections of POCSO Act and murder was lodged, said police.
Police said that on March 24, around 11 pm, they received a PCR regarding the suspected kidnapping of a five-year-old girl.
A 30-year-old laborer was arrested from West Bengal’s Asansol by the Delhi Police for allegedly raping and killing a five-year-old girl in Outer Delhi, officers said.
Police said that on March 24, around 11 pm, they received a PCR regarding the suspected kidnapping of a five-year-old girl.
The statement of the parents of the girl was taken and a case of kidnapping was lodged the same day.
An officer said: “Several CCTV footage was procured from the area and in one of them, the girl was seen walking alongside a man. He was identified as Totan Lohari alias Khudi and he was found absconding.” Police said that local enquiry established that he might have fled to West Bengal.
