Now in this category, WhatsApp has launched a new text formatting option (Text Formatting Shortcuts). This will prove to be very beneficial for people who use WhatsApp to chat frequently.

With the introduction of new text formatting options, users can now make better use of them. These features were initially in the trial, but now users can use them on various platforms including desktop, Android, iOS, and web versions.

What are the four new shortcuts? 

The new update launches four new text formatting shortcuts to make the messaging experience even better for users:

1. Bullet List: Users can now create bulleted lists or points in WhatsApp messages. For this, you have to use the '-' sign after a space. With this, you can include bullet points in your chat.

2. Number List: WhatsApp is now allowing users to create numbered pointers in chats. To create a list of numbers simply enter the numbers, add a period, and press the spacebar.

3. Block Quotes: Block quotes have also been launched in WhatsApp's text formatting option. Users can now highlight text before sending it, followed by a '>' sign and a space. With this, you can highlight any important message.

4. Inline Codes: For users who want to send codes or read snippets of content in a different format, WhatsApp is now launching the inline codes feature. For important messages, write the message inside backticks ("").

However, WhatsApp has also provided such options before, such as

-Italic: Place an underscore on either side of the text to italicize the message. eg - _text_

-Bold: Place a star on either side of the text to make the message bold. Like - *text*

-Strikethrough: Place a tilde on either side of the text to strikethrough the message. As- ~text~

-Monospace: Place three backticks on either side of the text to monospace the message. Like- ```text'''

Apart from enhancing its messaging platform, WhatsApp has also recently taken steps to fight fake news. WhatsApp has launched a new helpline to stop the spread of fake news.
