An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police was allegedly shot dead in broad daylight in Nandnagari area of ​​North East Delhi on Tuesday. Now some information related to the incident has come to light. Initial police investigation revealed that there was a dispute over money between the ASI and the accused person. Due to the same dispute, a 44-year-old man took his life by shooting the first ASI. Later, after failing to escape, the accused committed suicide by shooting himself.

According to information received by PTI from the police, Mukesh Kumar, a contractual employee of Delhi Municipal Corporation, also fired at the auto-rickshaw driver. The rickshaw puller survived, but a scooter rider was also injured in the firing. Police said that this incident happened near Meet Nagar flyover. ASI Dinesh Sharma died after being shot.

According to the police, Mukesh had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from Sharma three years ago for some business, but could not repay the dues. ASI Sharma had come to collect Rs 25 thousand from Mukesh but an argument broke out between them. After an argument, Mukesh took out his weapon and opened fire on Sharma, killing him on the spot.

Police suspected there was already a plan to shoot

The police suspect that Mukesh Kumar had a pre-planned plan to shoot Sharma, because he had brought a pistol with him. Sharma was hit by two bullets, while another bullet hit scooter rider Amit Kumar (30), who was passing near the spot.

Investigation revealed that Mukesh had asked Sharma to come and meet him near the flyover on Tuesday. Along with this he had also promised that he would give them Rs 25,000. According to an eyewitness, Mukesh first shot Sharma, killing him. Then he shot a person named Amit in the leg.

Auto driver was also shot, but escaped

After this, he tried to escape from there in an auto rickshaw, when its driver refused to take him, he fired at him also. However, the auto driver somehow managed to save himself. After the incident, when a crowd started gathering at the spot, the accused committed suicide by shooting himself.

Another officer said that the police have recovered a 7.65 mm pistol from the back seat of the auto. He said that several cartridges and shells were also recovered at three different places on the flyover. Additional Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) Sagar Kalsi said that there was a financial dispute between Sharma and Mukesh, due to which the incident took place.
