
Dhamtari, April 20 (HS). The Additional Sessions Court has sentenced the accused son to life imprisonment for killing his father by beating him with a stick. Besides, he has also been punished with fine.
According to information received from court sources, Jagmoti Samrath, resident of village Kotpara Borai of Borai police station area, had gone to a farmer’s house on the evening of 28 July 2022 to take money for dock mining, when her husband Naresh Kumar, son of Dhansingh Samrath, who was present in the house, A dispute started over not being allowed to go out of the house. As the matter escalated, Kalyugi’s son Naresh became enraged and attacked his father with a stick, killing him. Injured by the attack, the father fell on the ground, due to which Dhansingh Samrath died on the spot. When Jagmoti Bai returned home, she was shocked to see the view of the house. He informed about this in Borai police station. Police reached the spot and took Panchnama action. After arresting the youth and investigating, the police presented the case diary in the court.
Additional Sessions Court Judge Usha Gendale, after hearing all the parties, sentenced the accused son Naresh Kumar Samrath, 23, to life imprisonment for the murder of his father. Also punished with a fine of Rs 1000. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional rigorous imprisonment for six months.
