WhatsApp is exploring ways to provide users with an in-app dialer which is set for release in a future update, the report mentioned.

Unfortunately, it is still unclear how WhatsApp will implement the in-app dialer within the app, however, it will surely be a great benefit for users. WabetaInfo suggests that a dialer in WhatsApp would let you call users without saving their number or opening a chat. This is handy for quick calls, like meetings or questions. Plus, it saves time and effort.

Moreover, you can call without switching apps, and it uses less data, which is great for international calls. WhatsApp also offers end-to-end encryption for calls, giving you more privacy and security than regular calls.

The report suggests that an in-app dialer feature is under development. That means it is still unclear when will you get it on your app. “It will be available in a future update of the app,” the report added.

Meanwhile, the simple trick to call someone without saving a number is to begin a quick chat without someone and then place the call. Still, you will need to try this trick. WhatsApp's click-to-chat lets you start a chat with any WhatsApp user using a wa.me link. To use it, go to your browser and enter https://wa.me/phonenumber. Include the country code but no extra symbols like + or -. For instance, for India, it would be https://wa.me/919911223344. Press enter, and you'll see a website with a green message button. Clicking it will take you to the chat.
