
Bones have been found in the case of murder of a youth in Howrah district of West Bengal. It is alleged that the youth was called to Jaipur and he was murdered. It has been almost a year since the murder of the young man. After a long time, the police have recovered bones in this case from near Gaighata Canal of Jaipur. The bones recovered by the police have been sent for forensic examination. The young man's family members have identified some other items found near the canal.
Police said that on August 23, 2023, a young man named Ganesh Das was murdered in Uluberia. It is alleged that the youth's aunt Monica Malik called Ganesh to her house and then fed him food of his choice. After feeding him, the aunt strangled him to death.
A total of seven bones were found from the canal
During police investigation, a total of seven bones were found from Gaighata canal. In which bones of thighs and waist and some other parts of the body have been found. The police have sent the recovered bones for forensic examination. According to the police, Ganesh's body was kept hidden in the forest near the house for two days. Then, seeing the opportunity, wrapped his body in a tarpaulin and threw it in the village canal. Before throwing it in the canal, sand and stones were tied with it and then it was thrown in the river.
After Ganesh was not found till August 23, his family members lodged a missing report at Jaipur police station, after which the police registered a case. After the complaint of the youth's family, the police started investigation. The police interrogated and then searched the canal. Police had arrested Navnita Das, Sukalyan and his wife Monica on Sunday.
