NPCI has recently allowed Paytm's parent company One97 Communications to transfer its users to new banks for UPI payments.
Earlier in March, NPCI had authorized OCL to act as a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) within the multi-bank model. With this approval from the regulator, Paytm is now able to provide UPI services in collaboration with partner banks.

Following NPCI approval on March 14, 2024, to engage OCL as a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) on the Multi Payment Service Provider API model, Paytm has partnered with Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and Integration with Yes Bank has been expedited.

The company has started the process of transferring users with the '@paytm' UPI handle to these banks, which will ease UPI transactions. Some Paytm UPI users have already started receiving important UPI alerts inside the app.

If you are also a Paytm UPI user and want to update your UPI ID, then follow the steps given below-
First of all, install Paytm UPI mobile payment app.
Enter your mobile number. If you are using a dual SIM phone, select the SIM slot associated with your mobile number.
Verify your mobile number by sending an SMS from your device.
After this select your bank from the list given and ensure that it matches the mobile number registered with your bank. Your bank account details will then be retrieved.
If you are linking your bank for the first time, create a UPI PIN. You will need your debit card details for this step.
Your bank account has been successfully linked via UPI and you are all set to initiate your first payment.
