This update has been rolled out in many countries. So now no one can copy and save the screen shot or photo of anyone's profile photo.

The company has developed a feature to block screenshots of profile photos. Earlier WhatsApp beta feature was rolled out for Android. This new feature is being made available for WhatsApp Beta for iOS. WABetaInfo has rolled out these new changes to the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.70 in the TestFlight app. The company has posted about this on X and WABetaInfo has also shared its screenshot while giving information about this new feature.

In the shared screenshot, it appears that WhatsApp has blocked the screen capture. After the roll out of the feature, users will not be able to take screenshots of anyone's profile photo. This feature will also remain for the screen recording option provided in the phone. Currently, no information has come out in this regard. The feature will also help prevent misuse of users' profile photos, the company said.

One drawback of this feature is that the profile photo can be captured from the camera of another device. In such a situation, it will be difficult to say for sure whether the company's objective of bringing this feature will be fulfilled or not. This feature is still in development and beta testing phase and after the completion of beta testing, the company will roll out the new update of this feature on play store.
