If you run WhatsApp accounts on more than one device, then there is good news for you. The company is about to roll out security updates for users. WABetaInfo, a website that keeps an eye on the upcoming features of WhatsApp, has given this information. According to the report, WhatsApp is soon going to add a chat lock feature for linked devices.
WABetaInfo reported that this feature is currently available for Android beta testers. This feature is available on app version number 2.24.11.9. This feature offers users an additional privacy and security layer. With its help, users will be able to protect their chats on linked devices.
Linked Device Chat Lock Feature
WhatsApp users will be able to secure their chats on linked devices.
To access chat on the linked device, the user will have to enter the secret quote. This secret code will have to be generated from the phone.
Once the code is set up, protected chats will not appear alongside regular chats. These chats can be accessed on the locked chat screen.
To view these chats you will have to enter the secret code.
WABetaInfo has said in its report that this feature keeps users' sensitive chats separate from regular chats, which helps protect the chats from being accidentally revealed. Once you activate this feature in a chat, it becomes enabled on all linked devices.
