
New Delhi, May 20 (Tezzbuzz Reporter) There is good news on the employment front amid Lok Sabha elections. The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added a net 14.41 lakh members in March. EPFO, the body that manages the retirement fund, has given this information.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment said in a statement released on Monday that according to the latest payroll data of EPFO, a net of 14.41 lakh new members have been added in the month of March. According to the ministry, about 7.47 lakh new members have joined during March 2024. The 18-25 age group accounts for 56.83 percent of the total new members added in March.
EPFO payroll data shows that around 11.80 lakh members exited the Employees Provident Fund Organisation, who later rejoined. According to the data, out of 7.47 lakh new members, about two lakh are women members. The Ministry of Labor and Employment said that EPFO's payroll data is provisional, as the process of collecting data goes on continuously.
