Many times we need to share files with each other. For this, people also use many sharing WhatsApp apps. We can also send files to each other through WhatsApp, but it requires data. But now you will be able to share files through WhatsApp even without the internet. The social media company is working on a new feature. Under this, WhatsApp users will not need the internet to transfer files between each other.
Recently, a new feature People Nearby has been seen on the latest Android beta version of WhatsApp. According to media reports, this feature allows transferring files between two WhatsApp accounts without the internet. To share files without data, you will have to make some settings in WhatsApp, after which the file can be shared easily.
Feature to transfer files without data
According to WABetaInfo, a portal that keeps an eye on WhatsApp updates and new features, this feature will be available on WhatsApp Android Beta version 2.24.9.22. From here it will be easy to share photos, videos, documents, or other files without an internet connection.
However, this feature will work only when you give the necessary permissions to WhatsApp. This also includes the permission under which nearby WhatsApp devices will be able to find your WhatsApp phone.
End-to-end encryption in file transfers
In the new feature, you will also have to give permission to connect media files, location devices, etc. Users will have the facility to cancel these permissions whenever they want. The special thing is that the files transferred under the People's Nearby feature will remain end-to-end encrypted. Meaning WhatsApp will take full care of your privacy.
The phone number will not be visible
The phone number will remain hidden during WhatsApp file sharing, it will not be visible to anyone. This feature will work just like Quick Share. Currently, this feature is in the testing phase, and only selected people can use it. After the testing process is completed, WhatsApp can release this feature for common users.
