WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to share long Voice Status messages as status updates. This feature has been introduced in two versions of the iPhone and Android application and users are already getting this feature on their devices.

The Meta-owned instant messaging platform recently tested several new features, including testing AI-generated profile pictures and an option to clear the number of unread messages. All of this is aimed at improving the overall user experience of the app.

Previously, WhatsApp allowed users to share voice notes of up to 30 seconds as status updates. You can do this by going to your status updates page and tapping and holding the microphone icon. Currently, the platform has increased the duration of voice notes to 1 minute. This feature will be implemented in the latest app update.

I checked if this feature was available and was able to record a one-minute voice memo and save it as a status update on my device. It is now available on both Android and iOS platforms. The introduction of this feature could make it easier for people who have already split long voice messages into their WhatsApp status updates as they will no longer need to split them up as often.

WhatsApp usually rolls out updates gradually. So if you didn’t get this feature on your device, we recommend you update to the latest version of the app. It may take a few days for features to become available.

According to WhatsApp update tracker WABetaInfo, the platform is trying to offer several new features to its users. One of the recently reported features is “Generate with Artificial Intelligence,” which allows users to generate profile pictures using artificial intelligence. This could potentially allow users to use artificial intelligence (AI) to create personalized images that match their interests, personality and mood.

Another feature that is reportedly being developed is chat topics. According to reports, WhatsApp will soon allow users to choose from five preset themes: Blue, Green (default), Gray, Red and Purple. It has been reported that selecting a theme can change the color of the chat as well as the background of the chat. Everything is done via the new topic selection.
