In Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, a person who used to lend money on interest was brutally murdered and buried on the banks of the Chambal river. When the matter came to light, sensation spread in the entire area. The deceased has been identified as Arvind Gurjar, son of Sonveer Singh. Arvind was a resident of Pratappura under Sahason police station. His age is said to be 55 years. Arvind's body was wrapped in salt and buried about 6 feet below the banks of the Chambal river. On the indication of accused Prem Singh, the body was recovered from a pit on the banks of the Chambal river near Sahason village.

How was it revealed?

The family of the deceased had informed the police about the accused, after which the police interrogated the accused Prem Singh on the basis of suspicion. The accused told the entire story of the murder to the police. However, the accused has clearly refused to tell the names of other people to the police.

According to the local people and the family, this murder happened due to money transactions. Based on the things told by the accused, the police is looking for many big people. Many fingerprints have also come up in the forensic investigation. It is believed that many people were involved in the murder.

In what condition was the body found?

The police found the body in a mutilated condition. The deceased's legs were tied with a thick rope and his hands with wire. His neck and chest were attacked several times with an axe. The left thigh was also badly damaged by the axe attack. The body was buried about one and a half meters below the ground. The police, with the help of the villagers, took the body out of the pit after a lot of hard work. The police did the Panchnama proceedings and sent the body for post-mortem.

What did the accused say?

In this case, the police arrested the accused with the help of CCTV footage. In police custody, the accused said that he had committed this murder along with two friends. He also said that 'they (the other two accused friends) will kill my family, so I will not be able to tell anything about them.'

What are the villagers saying?

According to the villagers, many other people are also involved in this murder. It is even claimed that two days before the incident, a history-sheeter had beaten the deceased badly after drinking alcohol over money transactions. In this entire case, the needle of suspicion is pointing towards a family, which was a partner in money transactions and land. The deceased's brother Ravindra Gurjar and his brother-in-law Shivendra Gurjar, a resident of Imliya, have also expressed suspicion on the same family.

There is a lot of anger among the people of Gurjar community after this murder. All the people of Gurjar community have demanded a fair investigation from the senior police officers and action against the culprits. At present, the police is trying to get to the bottom of the whole matter.
