When WhatsApp introduced the green theme for iOS users months ago, the Meta-owned platform received a lot of criticism from users. Many iPhone users expressed on social media that they did not like the green WhatsApp and wanted everything to go back to the way it was before. But this change was permanent and gradually all iPhone users got the green-themed interface. However, it seems that the instant messaging app is working behind the scenes to give users more control over their chat themes.

In May this year, it was reported that WhatsApp is exploring the possibility of introducing five additional default chat themes, including the default green theme, to be released in a future update. Now, a report by WA Beta Info states that the number of themes will not be five, but ten. So, if you don't like the look of your WhatsApp chat interface, you will soon have other options to choose from.

Introducing more themes will improve the user experience by allowing more personalization and customization. iPhone users will be able to choose from ten preset colors for their chat bubbles and wallpapers. Previously reported color options included the classic green, white, blue, pink, and purple. The feature is still under development, but its presence in the beta version indicates that Meta is actively working on enhancing the app's personalization options.

Apart from chat themes, WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a feature that allows iOS users to change the accent color of the app. The feature will enable the customization of in-app buttons, which will offer the same color options as the chat themes. Although these features are not yet available to the public, their inclusion in the beta version suggests that a public release may be in the works.

The process of changing the chat theme and accent color is straightforward. Users can go to their WhatsApp account settings, select Chat Options, and then choose Theme. From there, users can choose their preferred color, which will automatically adjust both the wallpaper and chat bubble colors to match.

By giving users more control over the look and feel of the app, WhatsApp is trying to attract and retain users who value a customized messaging experience.
