According to the report, the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.14 update available on the Google Play Store has revealed that the Meta-owned instant messaging app is preparing to bring an Augmented Reality feature for call effects and filters. WhatsApp is currently working on this upcoming feature.

A screenshot has also been given in the report, in which this upcoming feature is visible. According to the screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to bring new AR call effects and filters to the app. These AR effects will allow users to add fun and interactive things to their video calls. Users will be able to personalize their calls by enabling dynamic facial filters.

Apart from this, a tool is being developed to edit the background during WhatsApp calls, which will be especially useful for group conferences. It is worth noting that this calling background feature will also be available on the desktop app in the future.
