Palakkad: A tribal woman who went to graze sheep in Attapadi was reportedly tried to be killed by slitting her throat. The attack was on 55-year-old Chinnamma.
Selvaraj, a native of Tuvva, who attacked them, has been arrested by the police and the forest department. The incident took place on Tuesday at 3 pm. It is reported that the arrested man has a mental problem. After attacking them, he went into the forest. Subsequently, the accused was arrested during the investigation conducted by the police and the forest department. It is reported that Chinnamma is seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a man who tried to kill a neighbour with a knife for not buying alcohol in Kottayam has also been arrested. Shajimon was arrested at his home in Kitangur Pullepally Cherpunkal Thevarmatt. It is reported that the accused came to the neighbour's house on Sunday afternoon and attacked. He was arrested by the Kitangur police who registered a case following the complaint. It is reported that there are many other criminal cases against the accused in Kitangur station. He attacked again while he was out on bail from the court in the case of assaulting a police officer.
