WhatsApp for Android is testing new features in its Meta Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot. The feature tracker claims that the feature allows users to send voice messages to the chatbot. Meta AI can also respond to messages, but in text format. Apparently this feature will be available to a small group of beta testers. WhatsApp could be expanded to a larger group of users in the coming weeks.

According to a post published by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the Meta AI voice messaging feature has been discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp version 2.24.16.10 for Android. Once launched, anyone enrolled in the Google Play beta program will be able to tap the “Meta AI” button to access the chat interface and see the new voicemail icon.

This icon is similar to what you see in other chats and groups and is located at the bottom next to the text field. Thanks to the tracker function, users can send voice messages to Meta AI. Artificial intelligence will be able to process language and understand requests. An answer is then created in the text. Gadget 360 officials could not confirm the availability of the Android beta app on WhatsApp.

This feature is useful when users cannot enter long questions but still need information. Users who are constantly on the move may particularly find the guessing feature useful. Interestingly, meta-AI has always been versatile and capable of generating images, but has not yet added audio generation or processing. This may change with this update.

Separately, WhatsApp for Android is reportedly testing a way to quickly respond to messages by double-tapping them. This feature adds a heart emoji by default when users double-tap a message. It should be noted that Instagram and Facebook currently support this feature. This feature is currently in beta and no public release date has been announced.
