Tech News Desk, WhatsApp has been working on bringing in-chat voice note transcription feature for a long time and now finally the company has rolled it out. With the arrival of this feature, there is no need to go to any third party app for transcription of WhatsApp voice note. The messenger app is making it even more user-friendly. In the most recent update, the voice note transcription feature has been rolled out from beta to stable users, allowing voice messages to be converted to text instantly. This feature will save the user's time by noting what is said in the voice note. This feature is even more interesting for Indians, as this recently launched feature can transcribe voice notes in Hindi as well as other languages. However, this feature is currently available only on Android.
You have to turn it on from settings
WhatsApp's voice note transcript feature is available in chats and can be enabled through the app's settings. The feature is exclusive to the mobile app and does not support the web version. It is available in five languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi. It allows users to transcribe voice notes directly on their phones.
You will find the text below the voice note
Go to Settings on your WhatsApp app. Click on Chats and you will see a toggle bar to activate the feature. Once activated, a transcription prompt appears below the voice notes, allowing users to begin the manual process. When clicked, WhatsApp downloads the text file and shows the transcription result below the voice note.
There will be end-to-end encryption
WhatsApp guarantees that personal voice messages are secured with end-to-end encryption and only the sender and receiver can access them. Even WhatsApp itself cannot listen to or read the messages. Moreover, the transcription text file remains private and cannot be shared, which further enhances the privacy of the app.
