Important changes are going to happen soon for the members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Now employees will not have to face any problem in settling claims, as the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment is going to launch a new IT system.
The new IT system will be implemented in three months
Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced that EPFO will migrate to the new IT system within the next three months. After this, making claims and checking balances will become even easier. EPFO is preparing to launch IT System 2.01.
Benefits for Employees
Under the new system, no employee will need to transfer member ID while changing jobs nor will there be any need to open a new account. Balance checks, claim settlements, nominations and other tasks can be easily completed through the EPFO website.
Problems with the current portal
There were complaints of problems with the current portal of EPFO. In July 2023, officials of the retirement fund body complained to the government about the old software system and said that some people were facing problems in logging in to the portal and settling claims. Users believe that there is difficulty in controlling the traffic due to the heavy load on the portal.
