The Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments have announced to provide free LPG cylinders for women. Under this scheme, eligible women will be able to get a certain number of free LPG cylinders in a year. The government believes that this scheme will make the lives of women easier and contribute to their economic well-being. The demand for LPG gas cylinders is increasing day by day. From villages to cities, people are using LPG cylinders on a large scale. In such a situation, now people are also waiting for the guarantee of free cylinders.

The government of the country's largest state Uttar Pradesh has also announced to provision of free LPG cylinders for the people. But to fulfil this promise, people will have to wait for about two and a half months.

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh announced in November last year that the beneficiaries will get free LPG gas cylinders twice a year during Holi and Diwali. After Holi in March, now the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme of the Uttar Pradesh state government will get free gas cylinders on Diwali. Only residents of Uttar Pradesh can avail the benefits of this scheme. To avail of the benefits of this scheme, beneficiaries have to link their bank account with Aadhaar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in 2016.

Under this scheme, more than 9 crore free gas connections have been given in the country. A guarantee of free gas cylinders has also been announced in Andhra Pradesh.
