Patna: Inspired by the TV series Crime Patrol, a woman allegedly killed her three-year-old child to move with her paramour in Bihar. After killing the child by slitting her throat, the woman stuffed the body in a suitcase and threw it into a bush. The incident came to light after the suitcase was recovered by the police who then launched a probe into the matter.

The accused woman, identified as Kajal, has been arrested. During questioning, she confessed to killing the child. She told police that she had an extramarital affair and wanted to leave her husband and move in with her boyfriend but he did not want the child to come along.

The body of the child was recovered from a red trolley suitcase in a residential neighbourhood in Muzaffarpur's Manipur on Saturday. The recovery of the child's body has sent shock waves across the city. Meanwhile, police constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the killing.

The forensic team was also roped in the probe. While scanning the family's home, the forensic team found traces of blood on the floor, in the sink and also on the terrace. By that time, the accused had gone missing. Later, police found that she had called her husband Manoj on the day of the incident and told him she was going to her aunt's place.

After Manoj filed a police complaint against his wife, and an FIR was registered. Thereafter, police tracked Kajal's phone location and conducted raids. Eventually, she was found at her boyfriend's house.

During interrogation, Kajal revealed that she had been in an extramarital relationship for the past two years and wanted to move in with her boyfriend.

According to police, the woman had tried to destroy the evidence by cleaning up the blood spots in the room and terrace, but the forensic team still managed to find traces of blood. The murder weapon was also recovered.

Police suspect that only she was involved in the crime. More details are awaited.
