WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is apparently developing on a capability to open status updates from the viewer list. WhatsApp previously included a green ring around contacts’ profile pictures to allow status changes to be checked from the conversations list.

This feature let users rapidly find and browse status changes without visiting the updates page. Recently, the Meta-owned app added this functionality to the sheet that shows who has watched your status changes.
If a contact has shared a status update, users will notice a green ring around their profile picture in the list of contacts who have viewed your status.
WhatsApp may be testing new features to boost status update visibility and access to fresh information. WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is rolling out a capability to open status updates from the viewer list in the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.19.4 update on the Google Play Store.
Keeping up with status changes is easy with this upgrade. Users may now check the viewers list to discover who uploaded fresh material without browsing the status updates page.
This feature may encourage people to watch status updates since they can instantly see who has uploaded fresh material from the viewers list without scrolling through the tray.
“We believe that it enhances the overall user experience by making it easier to engage with status updates from multiple entry points within the app,” the study stated.
Some beta testers who install the newest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store may access status updates from the viewer list. More users will get this capability in the coming days.
