LPG Gas Subsidy: There are crores of people using LPG gas cylinders in India. Amid rising gas prices, the government provides subsidies to consumers. However, many people do not know whether they are getting subsidies on gas cylinders or not. In this article, we will tell you how you can know in just 2 minutes whether you are getting a subsidy or not.
What is LPG Gas Subsidy and how much is available?
A subsidy of Rs 200 to Rs 300 is given to domestic LPG gas consumers by the central government. This subsidy is available on a maximum of 12 cylinders in a year. This subsidy is deposited directly into your bank account. Therefore, you must keep checking from time to time whether you are getting a subsidy or not.
Eligibility for LPG Gas Subsidy
There are some conditions to get the benefit of gas subsidy. If you are a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, you will get a subsidy. Apart from this, if your annual income is less than Rs 10 lakh, you can still be eligible for it. Note that if your e-KYC is not complete, you will not get a subsidy. Therefore, make sure to get e-KYC done.
How to check LPG gas subsidy?
Now the question is how do you find out whether the subsidy is coming to your account or not? You can get this information by following the easy steps given below.
First of all, you have to go to the official website of MY LPG.
After visiting the website, you will see the options of three major gas companies (HP, Bharat, and Indane). Click on the company whose gas cylinder you use.
Now you have to click on the option of 'Give your feedback online'.
After this click on the 'LPG' option and then select 'Subsidy Related (PAHAL)'.
On the next page select the option of 'Subsidy Not Received' and then enter your mobile number or LPG ID.
When you enter the information and submit it, the status of your subsidy will be visible to you. From here you can see how much subsidy you have received and when.
What to do if the subsidy is not being received?
If you are not getting a subsidy, then there is nothing to worry about. For this, you can take the following steps.
You will get the option to register a complaint on the MY LPG website itself. From here you can register your problem.
You can also register information and complaints related to subsidies by calling 1800-233-3555.
If the problem is not being resolved online or over the phone, you can also contact your nearest gas distributor.
Why is e-KYC necessary?
The government has made e-KYC mandatory for gas subsidies. If you have not yet done your e-KYC, then complete it as soon as possible. You can also do this process online or contact your nearest gas agency. You will get a subsidy only after e-KYC is done.
