Update address at the Aadhaar center

To change your wife's address on her Aadhaar card, visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center together. Request an address update form from the operator, fill in the required details, and provide the new address. Along with this, you will have to submit a copy of the husband's Aadhaar card as proof of address.

You can also submit your marriage certificate or wedding card as an additional document. After submitting the form, the operator will take your wife's photo for biometric verification. In a few days, the address will be updated. You can choose to receive the updated Aadhaar at your registered address or download it online.

Option to change the surname

Many women adopt their husband's surname after marriage. If your wife wants to change her surname on her Aadhaar card, you can do so at the same time as updating the address. Just fill in the details for changing the surname on the same update form.

To support the change of surname, you will have to attach a copy of the husband's Aadhaar card along with proof like your marriage card or marriage certificate. For surname updates, marriage certificate or wedding card is mandatory.
