LPG price hike: 19kg commercial cylinder becomes costlier by ₹48.50
01 Oct 2024
Oil marketing companies have rolled out a price hike for commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders, effective today.
The cost of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder has jumped by ₹48.50, now retailing at ₹1,740 in Delhi.
This price hike comes just days before the festive season kicks off and marks the second price hike for this category of cylinders since September.
Free trade LPG cylinders also see price increase
Additional hike
In addition to the 19kg commercial LPG cylinder, prices for 5kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have also been raised by ₹12. This adjustment follows a series of price changes over recent months.
The last increase took place on September 1 when oil marketing companies hiked the price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹39, following a previous reduction on July 1 intended to ease costs for businesses and commercial establishments.
Total increase in LPG cylinder prices over past several months
Cumulative hike
Commercial LPG cylinder prices have risen by ₹82.5 in the last 6 months (March: ₹25, September: ₹39, October: ₹48.50), despite a one-time cut of ₹30 in July.
This steady increase impacts both consumers and businesses.
While domestic LPG cylinder rates remain unchanged, the overall trend suggests rising costs for households and businesses, potentially affecting budgets and operations.
