Damascus (Syria) October 09 (ANI): An Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Mezzah suburb west of the Syrian capital Damascus on Oct 08. As per Syrian state media, seven civilians were killed and eleven others were severely injured in Israel’s airstrikes. As per the Preliminary reports, the seven civilians included women and children who lost their lives. Israeli airstrikes also caused "grave" material damage to private properties in surrounding areas. As per the cited source, the airstrike was conducted through 3 missiles coming from the direction of the Golan Heights. State media earlier reported that Syria's air defences had intercepted "hostile" targets in the vicinity of Damascus. Israel has been carrying out strikes against Iran-linked targets in Syria for years but has ramped up such raids since last year's Oct 7 attack
