Quetta, Oct 12 (ANI): In a heart-wrenching incident, at least 40 gunmen armed with rockets, grenades brutally killed 21 coal miners in Pakistan’s Quetta. Gunmen armed with rockets and hand grenades killed some miners in their sleep and shot others after lining them up, said police. The attacks took place in the mineral-rich Balochistan province, which borders Afghanistan and Iran. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital in Pakistan’s Quetta. However, there has not been an immediate claim of responsibility regarding the brutal killings of coal miners. Notably, the heinous crime has come days before Pakistan set to host Shanghai Co-operation Organization summit. A decades-long insurgency in Balochistan by separatist militant groups has led to frequent attacks against the government.
