In a shocking incident, a family of four members was found dead at their home in the Singanayakanahalli area in Bengaluru on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Avinash (33), his wife Mamatha (30) and their two daughters aged five and three, news agency PTI reported citing the police.
The police suspect this to be a case of murder-suicide owing to financial problems, Indian Express reported.
The police said Avinash worked as a cab driver, and the family, hailing from the Kalaburagi district, had been living in Bengaluru for the last six years. The police said that initial investigations suggested that the mother strangled her daughters before taking her own life on Sunday, while the father died by suicide later.
Bengaluru Rural District Superintendent of Police C K Baba told reporters, “In the morning when Avinash’s brother came and when no one opened the door, he broke open the door and found his brother, his wife and their two daughters dead. Avinash had hanged himself. We have to investigate how the others died.”
