Free Gas Cylinder Yojana 2024: Under the Ujjwala scheme, the central government is giving a subsidy of Rs 300 to the beneficiaries. Whereas, the remaining discount is given by the state government. Under the scheme, a 14.2 kg cylinder is refilled to the beneficiaries.
Free LPG Cylinder Scheme: On the occasion of Diwali, the Yogi government has issued an order to give free LPG cylinders like last year. With this step of the Yogi government, 1.86 crore families of Uttar Pradesh will get direct benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. After the order of CM Yogi Adityanath, the distribution of free LPG cylinders has been started before Diwali.
Actually, under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’, free LPG cylinders are distributed in the state twice a year on the occasion of Holi and Diwali respectively. Under this, a government order has been issued to distribute free LPG cylinders before Diwali.
Government spending Rs 1890 crore.
Last year, 1.85 crore beneficiary families and more than 85 lakh women were given its benefit. Whereas this year the number of beneficiaries has increased to 1.86 crore families. For this, the double-engine government is spending Rs 1,890 crore.
Let us tell you that under the Ujjwala scheme, the central government is giving a subsidy of Rs 300 to the beneficiaries. Whereas, the remaining discount is given by the state government. Under the scheme, beneficiaries are given 14.2 kg. The cylinder is refilled.
Free cylinders were also given on Holi.
On the occasion of Holi also, the Yogi government had given free cylinders to the Ujjwala beneficiaries. The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath, while launching this scheme on 10 November 2023 last year, approved the transfer of subsidy amount to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
