Free Cylinder: Diwali festival is very near and to ensure that there is no problem in cooking food at home on this occasion, the government has started the distribution of free LPG cylinders. Festivals like Karva Chauth and Ahoi Ashtami are coming before Diwali, so the government has made arrangements so that the deprived and poor families do not have to worry about cooking food during these festivals.

A big gift to the beneficiaries of this state

The Uttar Pradesh government has fulfilled its promises to 1.86 crore families of the state on the occasion of Diwali. Rs 1,890 crore has been allocated for this gift. The state government today issued a statement saying that under this initiative, the 'double engine government' had promised to give free cylinders, and work has been started to fulfill it.

Let us tell you that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, free LPG cylinders are being distributed in the state during the festivals of Holi and Diwali for the last two years. The Food and Logistics Department has taken up the responsibility of completing the distribution as soon as possible as per the government order issued for this.

What to do for free cylinder?

Women are especially waiting to get these free cylinders and now this wait is about to end. Under this scheme, the process of Aadhaar certification is going on and those who have got their Aadhaar authentication done have the opportunity to get a free cylinder before Diwali. These free cylinders will be given only to those beneficiaries whose bank accounts are linked to Aadhaar and are valid.

Last year also the government had distributed free cylinders

The government here distributed free LPG cylinders to 1.85 crore families including more than 85 lakh women last year. The price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder here is Rs 842.42 and these cylinder prices are as per September. The central government gives a subsidy of Rs 300 to every beneficiary under the Ujjwala scheme while the state government bears the rest of the subsidy itself.
