Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a big and special initiative of the Government of India. Under this scheme, women living below the poverty line are given free LPG gas connections. The aim of this scheme is to provide clean and convenient cooking options to poor families and improve their health.

Which women will get the benefit of this scheme? There are some eligibility conditions to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana:

Income limit : The applicant woman should be from a family living below the poverty line.

Age: The age of the woman applying should be 18 years or above.

Aadhar Card : The applicant woman must have Aadhar Card.

Bank Account: The woman's bank account should be linked to her Aadhar card.

BPL Card: The applicant woman must have BPL card (poverty line ration card).

How to apply for gas connection online?
You can apply for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana online. For this you have to follow the steps given below:

-Visit the official website ( www.pmuy.gov.in ).

-On the home page, click on 'Apply for PMUY Connection' option.

-A dialogue box will open in front of you, which will have links to various gas companies.

-Click on the gas company from which you want to get the cylinder.

-On the page that opens, fill in your name, distributor's name, mobile number, address, pin code etc.

-Click on the Apply button. Your application will be submitted.

Important Information
- After applying, the authorized LPG distributor of your area will contact you.

-While taking the gas connection, you will have to pay a security deposit, which will be refunded later.

-After getting the gas connection, you will have to link your bank account with Aadhaar to avail the subsidy.
