SBI Mutual Fund SBI Contra Fund, the first contra-oriented mutual scheme in India has completed the milestone of 25 years. The scheme has generated 19.99% returns since inception (July 5, 1999) compared to 16.12% of its benchmark BSE 500 TRI.
Rs 95.3 lakh return on Rs 1 lakh lump sum investment – SBI Contra Fund
This means that if someone had invested a lump sum of Rs 1 lakh in the scheme, the investment would be worth Rs 95.3 lakh by June 28, 2024.
Gave a return of ₹7.19 crore – SBI Mutual Fund Return
If a monthly SIP in the scheme of ₹10,000 had been done since inception (₹30 lakh was invested), it would have been worth ₹7.19 crore on June 30, 2024, giving a return of 20.84% CAGR.
Returns given since launch
Since its launch on July 5, 1999, the scheme has offered point-to-point CAGR returns of 28.39% in 5 years, 29.64% in 3 years and 47.23% in 1 year. The scheme's benchmark (BSE 500 TRI) returned 19.95%, 19.97% and 38.40% respectively during the same period. Similarly, the scheme has given returns of 17.94% (15 years), 21.84% (10 years), 35.62% (5 years), 34.25% (3 years) and 48.68% (1 year), while the benchmark BSE 500 TRI Returns are 15.86% (15 years), 17.73% (10 years), 24.82% (5 years), 25.40% (3 years) and 43.02% (1 year). The current NAV of SBI Contra Fund as of 26 October 2024 is ₹384.2221.
