Arguments were made between ruling and opposition members on the free gas cylinder scheme in the recently held assembly meetings. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar answered the questions asked by Opposition leader Botsa Satyanarayana in this context.

He said that the state government has brought the free gas cylinder scheme as part of the Super Six schemes. The opposition could not bear to see this.

Minister Nadendla Manohar said that lakhs of people have booked free gas cylinders even after the implementation of this scheme for a month. It has been revealed that lakhs of families are benefiting from this scheme.

Minister Nadendla made it clear that there are 1.55 crore gas connections across the state.. Every eligible family will be provided free gas. Almost 40 lakh people have already made bookings.

Currently, out of 40 lakh people who have booked gas for free, 30 lakh people have deposited their pre-paid cash in their account. Free gas cylinder is a completely transparent program.

The first cylinder can be booked till March 31, 2025. He said that full funds have been allocated for this and no one should have any doubts regarding this scheme.
