M K Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, strongly objected on Tuesday to the use of Hindi on the Life Insurance Corporation of India website, claiming that it has been turned into a propaganda tool to force Hindi.

The “technical problem for not shuffling the language page” was the reason given by LIC of India.
In a post on social media platform ‘X,’ the chief minister shared a screenshot of the Hindi-containing LIC of India portal, writing: “The LIC website has been reduced to a propaganda tool for Hindi imposition.” Hindi is also used to present the English selection choice!
He said that this was nothing more than the forcible imposition of language and culture, trampled under India’s diversity.
With the support of all Indians, LIC expanded. What right does it have to deceive most of its donors? We call for this language tyranny to be immediately overthrown. The chief minister wrote, “#StopHindiImposition.”
BJP supporter and PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss called the action a “blatant imposition” of Hindi on those who speak other languages, saying that LIC’s effort to “push” a language among those who do not speak Hindi was completely unacceptable.
In a post on “X,” Dr. Ramadoss said, “Giving abrupt priority to Hindi alone is not acceptable as the LIC has a customer base drawn from the people from diverse languages in India.” He emphasized that the majority of the population, not only those who spoke Hindi, owned the Center and other organizations run by the union government.
Therefore, he said, “LIC of India’s home page should be changed to English immediately and a Tamil version website should be started.”PTI
