Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp faced a widespread outage today (November 25) for several users in India.
As per Downdetector, a crowd-sourced platform for tracking outages, users across India started reporting the issue from 7 AM. The outage peaked at 10:49 AM with more than 30 complaints on the site.
The data further said that more than 50% users faced issues with the website, 33% faced difficulty accessing the app and 10% reported server issues.
Users across metropolitan cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh saw a major hit.
Some users posted about the outage on their X handles. “Am I the only one experiencing Whatsapp web problems or is it down globally?” one of the users posted.

“ It’s (WhatsApp Web) failed to load since this morning,” said another user via his X handle.
Meta is yet to give a statement regarding the reasons which caused the outage.
