ATF price increased by 1.45%, commercial LPG price increased by Rs 16.5 per cylinder

NEW DELHINew Delhi: Jet fuel or ATF prices were hiked by 1.45 per cent on Sunday and commercial LPG, used in hotels and restaurants, by Rs 16.5 per 19 kg cylinder in a monthly revision in line with international oil price trends. According to state-owned fuel retailers, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price rose by Rs 1,318.12 per kiloliter or 1.45 per cent to Rs 91,856.84 per kiloliter in the national capital – one of the busiest airports in the country. This is the second consecutive monthly increase in jet fuel prices. On November 1, rates were increased by Rs 2,941.5 per kiloliter (3.3 percent). The increase came after two rounds of cuts that took rates to their lowest levels this year.

The price of ATF was cut by 6.3 per cent (Rs 5,883 per kl) on October 1 and by Rs 4,495.5 per kl or 4.58 per cent on September 1. The price of ATF in Mumbai increased from Rs 84,642.91 to Rs 85,861.02 per kiloliter on Sunday. Oil companies also increased the price of commercial LPG by Rs 16.5 to Rs 1818.50 per 19 kg cylinder. This is the fifth consecutive monthly increase in the price of commercial LPG. The rates were increased by Rs 62 per 19 kg cylinder in the last revision on November 1. In five price hikes, commercial LPG rates have been increased by Rs 172.5 per 19 kg cylinder. The price of 19 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs 148 in four phases. Commercial LPG now costs Rs 1,771 per 19 kg cylinder in Mumbai, Rs 1,927 in Kolkata and Rs 1,980 in Chennai.

ATF and LPG prices vary from state to state depending on the impact of local taxes including VAT. However, the price of domestic cooking gas remained unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2 kg cylinder. State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) fix ATF and LPG prices on the 1st of every month based on the average price of benchmark international fuels and foreign exchange rates.
