Punjab Desk: The three major gas companies of the country, Hindustan Gas, Bharat Gas and Indane Gas companies are currently running free safety checks and awareness campaigns to ensure the safety of LPG consumers, so that possible fatal accidents caused by gas cylinders can be avoided by checking domestic gas cylinders, gas stoves, regulators and safety pipes etc. at the ground level. Whereas earlier this check was costly. Due to which consumers were also not paying much attention to this. Keeping this in mind, the gas companies of the country have now handed over this work of checks to gas agency dealers.

Now the gas companies will pay the money spent on this work directly to the dealers. As per the rules and conditions issued by the gas companies, it is the responsibility of the dealer and delivery man of every gas agency to thoroughly check the gas stove, gas cylinder and safety pipe installed in the kitchens of the respective consumers. During this, if the gas pipe is cut or in a bad condition, then as per the conditions laid down by the gas companies, the consumers should be motivated to immediately replace the damaged gas safety pipe, so that by taking small precautions, any kind of big accidents in the future can be avoided.

Whenever a consumer buys a connection from a gas agency, the insurance of the consumer is done automatically by the concerned gas company. In such a situation, God forbid, whenever there is any financial loss or someone loses his life during an accident caused by a domestic gas cylinder, the concerned gas company compensates the loss of the consumer and in case of death, a huge compensation is given to the consumer's family in the form of insurance. But for this, it is very important to follow the rules and conditions set by the gas companies, only then the consumer will be entitled to the compensation from the company.

It is also the responsibility of the consumer to get the safety pipe, regulator replaced and the mandatory checking done by the companies done from time to time by telling the dealer or delivery man of the concerned gas agency, so that no one faces such a problem in life. At present, keeping in mind the safety of the consumer, gas companies are doing free safety checks, and at the same time, consumers are also being linked with valuable schemes like KYC scheme through biometric system so that consumers can avail every facility provided by gas companies. It is also important to mention here that the subsidy amount given to consumers who do not follow the rules set by the company can also be stopped, for which it is necessary that they go to the agency dealer and get the KYC done with biometric system.

What the dealers say
Jagroop Singh, representative of the local HP Gas Agency, said that 3 special teams of employees have been formed to provide the benefit of free safety check to domestic gas consumers, under which the employees of the said team are going door-to-door and checking domestic gas cylinders, gas stoves, regulators and safety pipes for free. He appealed to the consumers to take advantage of this campaign run by the gas company for free, so that the concerned consumer can get the benefit of the compensation given by the gas companies. He said that in his agency's office, consumers are being linked with the KYC scheme through the biometric system for free. The purpose of which is to send the information of every consumer associated with the company during the current time to the company.
