EPFO has changed the rules of the claim process. Now the process of claiming PF has become easier. Yes, now Aadhaar is not required to claim. However, this rule has changed only for special members. Let us know for which members this rule has changed.
These members will benefit.
According to the new rules, it will benefit those employees who do not have an Aadhaar card. Employees of these categories have been given the exemption to easily link their Universal Account Number (UAN) to Aadhaar even without an Aadhaar card. EPFO has given exemptions to registered international employees. These are the employees who used to work in India for some time but later went to their country. Since they were not Indians, they did not have Aadhaar Card. According to the new rule of EPFO, former Indian citizens who went abroad such as citizens of Nepal and Bhutan will benefit from this rule.
These documents will be required.
Registered international employees can claim PF through many documents. They can use verification documents - passport, citizen certificate, or any official ID proof. Apart from this, verification will also be done through a PAN card, bank account statement. For claims of more than Rs 5 lakh, the member will also have to get verification from the employer.
What is the Claim Rule
According to the claim rules of EPFO, any claim request will be carefully examined by the officer first. After this, the e-office file will be approved through the Approval Officer-in-Charge (OIC). The claim process will be taken forward only after this approval.
EPFO also advises the employee to always keep the same UAN number. This makes it easier to track past service records and get claims.
