Obnews Tech Desk: There is big news for Aadhar card holders. Now you can update your Aadhar card for free. The last date for free update has been extended to June 14, 2025. Earlier this deadline was 14 December 2024. UIDAI, the Aadhaar issuing body, has given this information on social media platform X.
UIDAI has informed that all Aadhaar card holders can update their information online without any fee. If you have changed your residence or shifted to another city, you can update your Aadhar card information. This free service is available only on the MyAadhaar portal (myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in).
How to update Aadhaar sitting at home?
You can update your Aadhar card through the online portal right from the comfort of your home. For this you will have to follow some steps given below –
1. Go to MyAadhaar portal
First of all go to (myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in).
2. Login
– Click on “Login”.
– Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
– Request OTP.
3. Enter OTP
– Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and login.
4. Select Document Update Option
– Click on the option of “Document Update”.
– Read the given instructions carefully and click on “Continue”.
5. Verify information
– Tick the check box and verify your information.
6. Upload Document
– Upload identity card and address documents.
7. Track Status
– After completing all the steps, you can track the status of “Update Request”. This will show whether your Aadhaar has been updated or not.
